KUALA LUMPUR, May 16 (Bernama) -- In an effort to spread joy in this blessed month of Ramadan, Takaful IKHLAS distributed packed meals in tiffin carriers to Institut Jantung Negara (IJN) and Maahad Nur Taqwa Lidirasah Islamiah through the Mangkuk Tingkat IKHLAS programme Wednesday.
The programme is part of the ‘IKHLAS Untuk Komuniti’ brand, the company’s corporate responsibility initiative, it said in a statement.
“This year, the Mangkuk Tingkat IKHLAS programme is organised to show our appreciation to the efforts of the doctors, nurses and medical assistants of IJN who have worked tirelessly to support patients’ health and wellness on daily basis.
This is one way of us saying thank you to them” said President and Chief Executive Officer of Takaful Ikhlas General Berhad, Eddy Azly Abidin in the statement.
A total of 150 tiffin meals were handed over to IJN’s chief executive officer Datuk Seri Dr Mohd Azhari Yakub.
This programme allows Takaful IKHLAS to reach out to the community, especially to those who are less fortunate, it added.
Meanwhile 50 tiffin meals were also distributed Wednesday to orphans and underprivileged children of Maahad Nur Taqwa Lidirasah Islamiah in Kedah.
The Mangkuk Tingkat IKHLAS is a programme jointly organised with Islamic Aid Malaysia.
